On Christmas day, Jason and I both opened presents and relaxed most of the day. Later in the late afternoon, we walked around a nearby park. The rest of the day was spent preparing Christmas Dinner. Jason had collected a variety of recipes for my favorite foods and this was a big surprise. For dinner we had my mom’s meatloaf and my grandmother’s sweet potato casserole. It was very tasty!

Last Friday, we traveled to the small town of Celle. It is known for having over 500 half timbered buildings all around the Altstadt (Old City). The Celle Christmas Market was also still going on…so this was fun to explore as well. Unlike other cities that concentrate the Christmas Markets all in one location, the Celle Market was spread all throughout the old city. This was a very nice characteristic as the crowd was not all in one spot, but rather spread out among the old buildings. It was more rustic being spread over a greater distance as well as it made you explore the many cobblestoned streets.
