After returning from Berlin late Wednesday night, Jason and I slept in on Thursday. Later in the day we headed over to have dinner with Lisa, Vitalij, Andre, and Christopher at my dormitory. Lisa, Christopher, Jason and I all prepared the meal and it consisted of a delicious salad and other sides by Lisa and Christopher. Jason made the main course which had wurst, onions, peppers, and seasoning…and it was also wonderful! We also had a side of boxed American mac-n-cheese! It was a great time relaxing and eating in the small kitchen with everyone, and even sampling some wine from Lisa!
We spent the rest of the day packing up a lot of my stuff in my room for Jason to bring back to the States. THANK-YOU JASON! Later that night we stopped by Carrie’s apartment to see her, her mom and others. It was Carries last night in Hannover before traveling back to America and they had a small get-together. It was bitter sweet to say good-bye as Carrie and I have become close over the past few months. We shared physiology class together and she was very open and welcoming. We have plans to hopefully meet up again someday back in America (or where ever our paths cross)!
On Friday we traveled back over to my side of town again to visit the Berggarten. During my Physiology exam, the professor informed me of an Orchid Show taking place at these gardens, and this seemed like something both Jason and I would enjoy. On our way to the show we walked through the Natural Science Campus (my campus) so Jason could see the grounds and various plant test plots. Along the way we stumbled across a plant sale, which I believe is hosted by the Floriculture Department, so of course we had to walk through! Jason got some great pics
of the flowers…so many beautiful hydrangeas! Here is a link to see his pics:

After the quick tour of the Natural Science Campus, we headed next door to the Berggarten. The orchid show was beautiful and the color was amazing! There were endless varieties, shapes, and sizes of flowers filling two conservatories. Here are some more pics:
We spent the rest of the day walking around the Berggarten in the outside gardens. Although it is winter, the grounds are still amazing and filled with winter interest. The witch-hazel bushes were all in full bloom and the snowdrops and aconites were blooming everywhere! Here are some of Jason’s pics from the walk:
