One week ago on Monday, we went on a walk around Hannover to see some new and old sights. We started at the Rathause (town hall) and explored the architecture inside. Unfortunately the tower was closed for winter, but we were able to make it to an upper hallway and walk around the building…getting a better view of the tower and also a cool view down into some courtyard areas.
After the Rathause, we started to make our way over to the Herrenhauser Gardens. It wasn’t too cold outside, so our path wandered around different parts of town and up the Georgergarten Allee. Finally, at the Herrenhauser Gardens, Jason was able to get some pics of winter maintenance, specifically the pruning of the various trees. I had seen this earlier in the week, and thought he would find it interesting. We did not stay too long as we had to get back to the apartment and prepare for our trip the next day to Berlin!
